why go minimal?
reason 1: information access should be easy.
with billions of sites to choose from, which site would you use? the site with endless links to this that and the other, only one of which takes you where you want to go? whilst in no way do we endorse google, we must admit that their home page is very good - there is nothing on it that does not need to be there.
reason 2: speed
at the time of writing, 41% of UK households with an internet connection have broadband - which means 59% of your users do not. as such, waiting for a site to download when all you want is a phone number is highly off-putting. for the technically minded, it also cuts down the server load a lot.
reason 3: no distractions
if your goal is to impart information clearly, cleanly and with style, minimal is the way to go. flashing smiley icons, throbbing banners, blinking this and that... all very well if your target audience are myspace fanatics, less so if not (although we can do flashy things if you want them).
do i have to go quite this minimal?
no - and it need not be in black and white, either. we can do very large bandwidth intensive sites for the more grapically minded. contact us for details, or see some screenshots here.....

coding practice
all our sites use validated css and are xhtml strict compliant. they are extensively tested with opera, safari, firefox and internet explorer.
